Text-To-Speech functionality added to Life In Another Town Blog Posts

Life In Another Town contains articles on community related stories.  Fundraising news relating to local charities concerned with the physically or mentally impaired, often makes an appearance.  In this vein we have made an effort to widen the accessibility of the Life In Another Town blog to people with a visual impairment or other reading difficulties.

Text-To-Speech functionality has been added, so that visitors can listen to the blog posts.

Beneath each post will appear an icon and text link, enabling the visitor to listen to the text of the post.  If you are looking at the initial part of the post this will typically be an extract you can hear, with the title and introduction repeated.  If however, having clicked to continue reading the rest of the article, you then click the Hear This Post link, you will hear the full post text read out to you.

In addition to this innovation all the text in the body of the blog posts on Life In Another Town is set to LARGE.

This text to speech addition is an experiment, which aims to enrich the user experience, so receiving your feedback is most welcome.

Do you have some community news from around the Ormskirk area to share or a story to tell? Yes!
