The Ship at Lathom Spring Beer Festival April 2012
Despite the economic doom and gloom, at least one local business has innovated to attract additional customers.
The Ship pub and restaurant at Lathom in West Lancashire held its first beer festival over the weekend of 21st and 22nd April 2012.

Live music, a food tent and over thirty guest beers and ciders attracted visitors to the pub located near the canal in Lathom.
Beers with colourful names such as Inveralmond Thrappledouser, Skinner's Betty Stogs, and Potbelly Craze Daze were among the ales on offer during the beer festival.

Another event will be held at The Ship, later on during the year, following on from the spring beer festival. The Pie and Sausage Festival running on the 7th -9th September.
