On Tuesday 6th March 2012 the Macmillan Cancer Information & Support Centre hosted an evening for Cancer specialists working in Southport Hospital and local GP Practices. The purpose of the evening was to explain to local Cancer professionals how the centre compliments and supports their work in the Southport area.

The newly opened Southport Community Service Station is situated in the heart of the town and is a complete community based information service. The Community Service Station is there to support independent living, for people affected by illness or infirmity.

There are a variety of services on offer, all free of charge and available to everyone. Get advice on benefits, Cancer care, symptom awareness and if you're a patient or carer, get practical help and advice on living with Cancer.

The aim of the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre is to help local people get information about Cancer and if required, ensure they quickly get access to Cancer care.
